Be Strong and Courageous

Currently, Todd and I are completing paper work and tasks needed before our final interviews.  We plan to have everything turned in this month.  During the last few months, we have both – together and individually – enjoyed sharing our family’s call to missions in both formal and informal settings.  It is humbling having so many people praying for us.

As for now beside work and the boys keeping us busy, we are enjoying all the local mission opportunities to be involved in around the Jackson area.  We have made sack lunches to hand out to those in need.   We have picked up limbs, we have served food, we have eaten and worshiped with others, we have made new friends and so much more.  Those don’t even count opportunities in our church.  We have been blessed lately to assist along side our Sunday School family with several different ministries, a few of them are as follows:

I love seeing my children involved when we help out at various places.  Our boys will be participating in a children’s version of Feed the Need Meal Ministry this month.   I love how they don’t look around and see people different from us.  In fact after worshiping and sharing a meal with a group of homeless people in Downtown Jackson, I asked the boys if they noticed anything different or strange about church that day.  There only answer was … “No, well, yeah … we don’t usually get to eat candy during church.”   I was thinking more about the drunk homeless man who asked me to pray with him, but bless their little hearts.  I pray that they will live a life of acceptance and humility always.

God has a place, a plan, for you.  God has a task that only you can do. There are so many options. Prayerfully consider wear God is leading you.  I know it’s hard to step out of your comfort zone at times.  You need not be qualified, only willing.  Where God guides, He provides.  Take refuge in Joshua 1:9.
